Welcome
Having studied at Rose Bruford College, Mandeesh continued
her studies and graduated with Honours from London School of
Dramatic Art in 2007.
Mandeesh’s first short film (Side Effect) won The Royal
Television Society Award. The spokesman for The Royal
Television Society said: “…the film tackled a serious
subject well, with elegance and subtlety, and contained a
great central performance.” In her second film (Letters to a
Laundry Girl) she took on the lead role of Lochana working
with a BAFTA nominated director, Kiran Valipa Venkat.
She soon landed the role of Pakeesa in a play called
Suburbia, and performed at Southwark Playhouse in 2008.
After attending the screening of her television pilot (Bad
Karma), award winning director Carl Medland offered Mandeesh
a role in his feature film, The Cost of Love, which was
released in October 2011. Carl Medland commented on her
performance saying:
“Mandeesh worked for me on 'The Cost of Love'. She was a
true professional from rehearsals to the filming day.
Mandeesh underwent research for her challenging role and
applied great focus, instinct and sensitivity when creating
Veena.
She shines on screen and has a natural understanding of
how to work not only with other actors but also the camera.
A real pleasure to work with and one to watch for the
future.” |
